Artist banned from Society6 after TikToker uses moles to identify her in racist cotton-picking video

Artist is banned from selling her work on Society6 after TikTok user identifies her in racist cotton-picking video – where she suggests slaves had it easy – by the MOLES on her hand

  • Popular TikToker Denise Bradley believes she has identified the woman in a racist cotton-picking video from the moles on her right hand
  • The video, which was posted by user @art_antonym, features a woman picking a clump of cotton from a plant
  • The woman says: ‘I really don’t understand what the big deal is. It’s not even that hard’ and calls slaves a ‘bunch of complainers’
  • Bradley compared the woman’s hand to that of artist Savanna Gustafson, arguing that the moles match and the artist created the video
  • In wake of the alleged discovery Gustafson’s Society6 page was deleted

An artist was banned from online marketplace Society6 after a TikToker allegedly identified her as the woman in a racist video suggesting that slaves working in the cotton fields had it easy.

In the video, which was posted by user @art_antonym, a woman is seen picking a clump of cotton from a plant and says: ‘I really don’t understand what the big deal is. It’s not even that hard.’

The clip was sent to Denise Bradley, TikTok user @auntkaren0, who is known for exposing alleged racists in her Racist of the Day videos.

Bradley believes she has identified the woman in the cotton-picking video as artist Savanna Gustafson — citing the two moles on the woman’s right hand as clues to determining her identity.

In wake of Bradley’s alleged discovery, Gustafson’s Society6 account was deactivated.

The popular TikToker posted a video explaining how she came to decide Gustafson was the subject in the @art_antonym video.

‘Today’s Racist of the Day — in my opinion — is this TikToker here,’ said Bradley, showing a clip from @art_antonym’s video.

‘But she doesn’t show her face, and, well you know auntie. Auntie always has questions.’

Bradley continued: ‘Now what she does though is give us one vital clue — the two moles on her right hand.’

She said that ‘upon some further investigation’ she was able to find another account — under the username @toadgooberstein — that Bradley believes to also belong to Gustafson.

Bradley said the anonymous poster gave her 'one vital clue' to help tracked down her identity - 'the two moles on her right hand'

‘It looks like you like to appeal to the black audience but don’t like black people,’ Bradley states.

She also argued that @toadgooberstein signed her artwork with the initials S.G.

‘With a little finesse and a little Google Magic, we come across Savanna Gustafson,’ Bradley said, showing a screenshot of a Pinterest account under the same handle.

Bradley also showcased some of the alleged racist comments that @art_antonym wrote on the post such as calling slaves a ‘bunch of complainers’ and saying they got to sing fun songs while working in the fields.

@art_antonym also agrred with an argument that black people were given free housing and food, saying: ‘I mean…they still get that.’

Bradley encouraged her followers to tag @toadgooberstein in their comments to ensure Gustafson would see her video.

However, one social media user took it a step further.

Twitter user @Momnxtdoor83 tweeted at Society6 saying that Gustafson was responsible for the racist video.

‘Toadgooberstein aka Savanna Gustafson posted a racist video, made racist comments and liked even more racist comments. “What’s the big deal they got free housing and food” “picking cotton isn’t so hard” “they got to sing while doing it” screen recordings have been taken,’ she wrote.

The online marketplace responded: ‘Thank you for bringing this to our attention! Though Society6 is an open platform, we do not tolerate hate or racism and have removed this artist from our site. Our mission at Society6 is to inspire and empower through art and design and we will not stand for hate in any form.’

The ToadGooberstein Society6 account has since been deleted, as have all other social media accounts associated with that handle.

MailOnline has contacted Society6 for comment.
