Rihanna DROPS her entire lawsuit against her father Ronald Fenty

Rihanna is dropping her entire lawsuit against her father Ronald Fenty, more than two years after accusing him of using her fame for profit in her suit.

Rihanna, who sued her father for using the family name to promote his venture Fenty Entertainment in 2019, told the court Tuesday she was dismissing her lawsuit against her father, according to RadarOnline, citing court documents.

The 33-year-old and her father were set to appear in court on September 22 for the trial, but it now appears as though they decided to reach an agreement behind-the-scenes in order to avert a spectacle around their legal proceedings, according to the site.

Rihanna took legal action against her father in 2019, alleging he was seeking profit from her fame, and that along with a business partner, Moses Perkins, he has been soliciting business by falsely acting as her agent, according to legal papers first obtained by The Blast.

Despite having no authority to act on his daughter’s behalf, Ronald is said to have booked her on a $15million tour in Latin America and two concerts, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for $400,000.

Rihanna asked for damages from her father, and an injunction on his business, set up in 2017.

Rihanna has a business of her own named Fenty Beauty, which produces make-up and facial products.

While Rihanna is taking legal action against her father, the two remain in contact.

Although he and her mother Monica divorced when Rihanna was 14 he has remained close to his daughter and her brothers Rorrey and Rajad.

Rihanna helped her father after he contracted coronavirus last year, sending him a ventilator and checking in on him on a daily basis, Ronald told The Sun.

And in the summer of 2018 she shared pictures with dad Ronald and her mom, as all three caught up during a trip back to her native Barbados.

However, Rihanna’s relationship with her father is often bumpy.

Ronald has battled addiction to crack cocaine in the past and has long been a heavy drinker.

Rihanna told Oprah that as a child she witnessed her father physically abuse her mother, once breaking her nose.

Then in 2008 Ronald was sent home from her North American tour following his drunken behavior on her tour bus.

Ronald has said that Rihanna then froze him out for two years before they reconciled.

In 2013 the singer quietly put Ronald through a $58,000 Malibu rehab program to save him from jail after he was arrested during a visit to California.

But in in 2014 Ronald was thrown out of her Diamond Ball after embarrassing his daughter by getting drunk and falling over on the red carpet.

He left California without seeing his daughter on that trip, although the two later reconciled once more.
