Kanye West raps about trust issues with Kim on new album Donda

Kanye West appears to be detailing some of what went wrong in his seven-year marriage to Kim Kardashian on his latest album Donda.

Kim, 40, filed for divorce from Kanye, 44, in February this year after a tumultuous period when he ran for president, and revealed at his campaign rally that they had discussed her having an abortion.

The Stronger hitmaker was also forced to apologize after he accused Kim of meeting with rapper Meek Mill behind his back, calling it ‘out of line.’

Now, fans have been connecting the dots over his lyrics on Donda, where he raps about domestic rows, keeping family secrets, and questioning his partner over a trip she took Palm Springs.

In the track ‘Lord I Need You’ Kanye raises concerns about fidelity in a relationship, as he raps: ‘Three hours to get back from Palm Springs, huh? / Who you know spend an hour in Walgreens, huh?’

Kim’s mother Kris Jenner owns a $12million home in Palm Springs where the whole family have been seen on numerous occasions, and it takes on average around two hours to travel there from Los Angeles.

Though he also says on that same song, ‘But you came here to show that you still in love with me’ and it’s worth noting that Kim has been present at all his album listening events.

Elsewhere, he raps about a domestic row with his partner, including the line, ‘Too many complaints made it hard to think / Would you shut up? I can’t hear myself drink.’

Suggesting their sex life has diminished, Kanye continued: ‘We used to do the freak like seven days a week / It’s the best collab since Taco Bell and KFC, uh.’

He then raps about even more rows, which appear to be pointing at Kim’s privilege, growing up in a wealthy family. ‘Talk to me nicely, don’t come at me loud / You had a Benz at sixteen, I could barely afford a Audi / How you gon’ try to say sometimes it’s not about me?’ he raps.

Kim was famously gifted a BMW for her sixteenth birthday by her late father Robert Kardashian.

The argument takes a turn for the worse when he adds: ‘Cussin’ at your baby mama, guess that’s why they call it custody.’

This year Kanye agreed to joint custody of their children, daughters North, eight, and Chicago, three, and sons Saint, five, and Psalm, two.

In another track, Kanye talks about distance between the pair, something that Kim herself had discussed on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

‘Startin’ to feel like you ain’t been happy for me lately, darlin”https://www.dailymail.co.uk/”Member when you used to come around and serenade me, woah,’ he says.

Adding: ‘But I guess it’s gone different in a different direction lately / Tryna do the right thing with the freedom that you gave me (Wheezy outta here).’

In the song ‘Believe What I Say’ – Kanye then talks about his partner having ‘family secrets’ alluding to the Kardashians.

He raps: ‘I ain’t never question what you was askin’ for / I gave you every single thing you was askin’ for / I don’t understand how anybody could ask for more.’

Continuing: ‘I be goin’ through things I had to wrote / Celebrity drama that only Brad’ll know / Too many family secrets, somebody passing notes.’

In other songs like ‘Jail’ he raps ‘Better that I change my number so you can’t explain’ which could refer to reports that the rapper changed his number in March after Kim had filed for divorce.

In the same song he says, ‘Guess who’s getting ‘exed? / You made a choice that’s your bad, single life ain’t so bad.’

Despite the pointed lyrics, Kim has been nothing but supportive of the record – posting it to her social media accounts, though some fans had pointed out she had it on mute.

The song ‘Hurricane’ appears to detail a California home they purchased in 2014, that was featured in Architectural Digest.

‘Architectural Digest, but I needed home improvement / Sixty-million-dollar home, never went home to it,’ he raps.

Then, on the track ‘Off the Grid’, Kanye raps that ‘Had to move away from people that’s miserable’ – which could refer to his move to Wyoming where he bought a ranch in 2018.
