Maitland-Niles has often been utilised at right-back in his time with Arsenal, but he’s stated that his preferred position is in central midfield.
He was given a chance to play more centrally during his loan spell at West Brom and, speaking back in March, Maitland-Niles made it clear that he wanted more opportunities to show what he can do.
