Drivers could even be issued penalties for parking directly outside their homes if the vehicle is considered to cause an obstruction. Three forces have issued new warnings to drivers within days of each other with dozens of fines already being dished out.
They said several fines were handed out after vehicles were found blocking pavements and junctions.
They said: “There has been an increase of vehicles causing obstructions to the footpaths and junctions.
“A total of 10 tickets were issued this morning reminding people of the importance of parking sensibly and safely.”
Around 40 cars were issued penalties at a well known illegal parking spot in Liverpool.
