New video is released in murder case against Florida teen charged with killing Tristyn Bailey

Authorities in Florida have released new video evidence in the murder case against Aiden Fucci, including footage that purports to show the 14-year-old walking with cheerleader Trystan Bailey on the night of her murder, and then running alone.

Another video that was disclosed by the State Attorney’s Office on Tuesday shows what investigators alleged was Fucci’s mother, Crystal Smith, washing blood off of her son’s jeans while he was being interviewed by deputies.

Smith was charged with evidence tampering in connection with Bailey’s brutal killing after Fucci’s jeans and the drain in his family’s home tested positive for blood.

Other evidence made public for the first time since the Mother’s Day murder includes several Snapchat videos that show Fucci sitting in the back of a patrol car and addressing Bailey directly.

Fucci has been charged as an adult with first-degree murder after the body of his 13-year-old classmate, Bailey, was found near his home in St Johns, Florida, on Mother’s Day.

Bailey had been stabbed 114 times, suffering 35 wounds to her head and neck, along with 49 defensive wounds to her arms.

Among the cache of video recordings that were released on Tuesday is video from a neighbor’s surveillance camera that investigators say captures the last time Bailey was seen alive.

The video allegedly shows Bailey and Fucci walking east toward a wooded area in their neighborhood in St Johns after midnight on the night of the murder.

Lesa than two hours later, just before 2am, the same camera shows what is alleged to be Fucci running in the opposite direction.

Another recording that has been obtained by the police from inside Fucci’s home purportedly shows Smith, the teen’s mother, going upstairs and picking up her son’s blue jeans, before allegedly scrubbing blood off of them off camera. Fucci was being questioned by the authorities at the time.

Smith was later arrested on a count of evidence tampering, a felony. Charging documents alleged that the jeans had blood present on them, despite efforts to clean them.

Additional blood evidence was discovered in the sink at the family’s home, according to court records.

The State Attorney’s Office also released three Snapchat videos that show Fucci and a friend in the back of a patrol vehicle while Bailey was missing.

‘We’re having fun, in a f***ing cop car,’ a smiling Fucci says into the camera. He then addresses Bailey directly, saying: ‘Tristyn if you f***ing walk out the damn…’ His friend adds that Tristyn would ‘see this in a month.’

According to documents that were released last month, One of Fucci’s friends, another classmate at Patriot Oaks Academy where Bailey also attended, told police that the accused murderer frequently talked about killing people.

The friend said that within a month of Bailey being killed, Fucci said he wanted to murder someone by dragging them into the woods and stabbing them.

She also said Fucci would ‘take his knife out and pretend to stab her with it’ and that he would ‘draw graphic pictures depicting mutilated bodies’.

The friend also told detectives that Fucci often heard voices when he was angry that would tell him to kill people, according to the report.

When detectives searched Fucci’s home, they uncovered a notebook filled with ‘violent’ drawings of women, including one that showed a female with red Xs on her breasts and severed arms with blood pouring out.

Also included in the trove of documents was an incident report regarding the moment his mother told him in a police interview room that Bailey’s body had been found.

According to the report, Fucci replied: ‘How is that my problem?’

When police searched Fucci’s home, they allegedly found a Buck knife sheath in his room, as well as shoes and a shirt with blood on them.

A knife found discarded in a pond near where Bailey’s body was found was consistent with her stab wounds, according to police.

Fucci initially was arrested on a second-degree murder charge and held in a juvenile justice center the day after Bailey’s body was found.

Authorities said his DNA was found on Bailey’s body.

Prosecutors later upgraded the charge to first-degree murder.

Fucci has pleaded not guilty to murder and remains jailed without bail. Smith was released after posting $25,000 bond. Both mother and son are due back in court for pretrial hearings on September 1.
