After this announcement, Kanye was questioned about the name in a 2018 interview.

He said at the time: “I believe Ye is the most commonly used word in the Bible, and in the Bible, it means ‘you.’

“So, I’m you, I’m us, it’s us. It went from Kanye, which means the only one, to just Ye – just being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confusion, everything.”

Going on to discuss his album at the time, Ye, he said: “The album is more of a reflection of who we are.”

Kim continued: “And I have to be in a place where I’m together for the kids. And he’s an amazing dad. And he’s done an amazing job.

“I think he deserves someone that can support his every move and go to Wyoming to be with him and follow him everywhere. He deserves a wife who travels with him and is there for everything. I feel like a f*****g failure.”

She added: “Yeah I feel like a f*****g loser it’s the end of a 13-year-marriage.

“But I can’t even think about that. I want to be happy.”

Since Kanye’s split with Kim, he has been promoting his upcoming album DONDA.

The record, which was due for release on August 6, has yet to be released but has been heard by a number of Kanye fans.

The star has been holding listening parties around America, with the next one taking place on August 26.
