Five teams made it two wins from two while another five suffered back-to-back defeats in the second action-packed weekend of the Premier League.
Every week, Sportsmail will be bringing you a Power Rankings table, listing the top 10 players in the Premier League after each weekend’s action is completed.
As the stories of the season unravel, the rankings will provide a form guide with players moving in and out of the top 10 depending on both their performances in the previous fixtures and also in recent weeks.

West Ham are sitting pretty at the top of the table after they scored four goals for the second week running to thrash Leicester 4-1 at the London Stadium. Chelsea and Liverpool are closely behind after their respective victories over Arsenal and Burnley.
Manchester City got their season up and running as they thrashed new boys Norwich 5-0 at the Etihad, while Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw at Southampton.
With all that in mind, how do Sportsmail’s latest batch of Power Rankings look?
10. Mason Greenwood (new entry)
After a fine goal on the opening day against Leeds, Mason Greenwood was on the scoresheet again as he struck against Southampton on Sunday.
United found themselves 1-0 down at half-time and had struggled to create any chances from open play in the first half. But Greenwood brought them level in the 55th minute, showing composure in the box to fire past Alex McCarthy.
It might not have been his cleanest strike, with the ball going through Mohammed Salisu’s legs and underneath McCarthy’s body, but it was an important one – and ensured United equalled the Arsenal Invincibles’ 2004 record of 27 league games unbeaten away from home.
Greenwood has had praise from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for the work he has done off the pitch to get fitter and stronger and Rio Ferdinand and Graeme Souness also lauded the 19-year-old after the opening weekend.
His goal means he is now level with Nicolas Anelka in fourth place in the list of all-time teenage goalscorers in the Premier League and he’ll be hoping to add to his tally against Wolves next weekend.

9. Marcos Alonso (up one)
Marcos Alonso scored Chelsea’s first goal of the season and kept a clean sheet in a 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace last weekend.
He started ahead of Ben Chilwell at left wing back against Arsenal on Sunday and helped his side preserve their perfect defensive record with a 2-0 win.
Many thought Chilwell would be the first choice left back for Thomas Tuchel this season but Alonso has proved he still has plenty to offer the Blues.
The 30-year-old created more chances than any other player at the Emirates and was also fouled the most times as he caused the Arsenal defence problems with his runs down the left.
Alonso played a role in the opening goal as he combined with Kai Havertz in the build-up to the move, which saw Romelu Lukaku get on the end of a Reece James cross.
The left back will be up against Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah on Saturday as the Blues travel to Liverpool.

8. Romelu Lukaku (new entry)
A new entry in the Premier League and a new entry here, Romelu Lukaku is back and off the mark after scoring against Arsenal.
The Belgian dominated the Gunners defence and bullied Pablo Mari in the build-up to his goal. The striker held the ball up and rolled the defender before laying it off and getting on the end of James’s cross.
He looked certain to score a second when he headed Mason Mount’s cross at goal but Bernd Leno produced a stunning save to tip his effort on to the bar.
Lukaku posted 1.41 for expected goals, the highest return figure of any Premier League player this season. He has been hailed as the ‘difference maker’ for Tuchel’s side this season as they look to challenge for the title.
A mouth-watering battle with Virgil van Dijk at Anfield awaits the forward this weekend.

7. Danny Ings (new entry)
A goal on his Aston Villa debut was overshadowed by a disappointing 3-2 defeat by Watford, but Newcastle couldn’t stop Danny Ings enjoying his first game at Villa Park.
The striker produced an early goal of the season contender just before half-time with a stunning bicycle kick which flew into the top corner.
Ings made the £30million switch from Southampton this summer and is already proving to be a crucial player for Dean Smith’s side.
With last season’s top scorer Ollie Watkins out injured, Ings has the goalscoring responsibility firmly on his shoulders.
There’s every reason to think Ings will be even more threatening when Watkins returns. Villa face Smith’s old club Brentford, who are yet to concede this season, next week and Ings will be a handful for the Bees’ defence.

6. Dominc Calvert-Lewin (new entry)
Everton certainly aren’t boring under Rafa Benitez and early indications show Dominic Calvert-Lewin will benefit from the Spaniard’s tactics.
The striker came off the bench to score against Southampton last weekend after returning from injury and was in the goals again at Elland Road.
The striker used his know-how to get the better of Leeds defender Liam Cooper, who dragged him down in the penalty area in the first half.
Calvert-Lewin then stepped up to confidently dispatch the spot-kick beyond Illan Meslier.
The striker will fancy his chances of adding to his tally with Brighton and Burnley the Toffees’ next two fixtures.

5. Mohamed Salah (down two)
A goal and two assists against Norwich saw Mohamed Salah take fourth spot in last week’s rankings and he may have stayed there had it not been for VAR.
The forward looked to have put Liverpool 2-0 ahead against Burnley on Saturday but VAR, rightly, chalked off his goal for offisde.
While Salah was unable to provide a goal or assist at Anfield, he was a constant threat for the Reds and combined well with Harvey Elliott.
His performance against Norwich also keeps him in the top five, with the forward assisting goals for Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino as well as finding the net himself.
Salah will come up against a strong Chelsea defence on Saturday but the Egyptian has a good record against his former side and will fancy himself to score.

4. Bruno Fernandes (down three)
An opening weekend hat-trick against Leeds saw Bruno Fernandes take top spot last week but the Manchester United man endured a frustrating afternoon at Southampton.
The midfielder was convinced he was fouled in the build-up to the Saints’ goal after being challenged by Jack Stephens.
The Southampton defender came away with the ball and the home side went on to score. Fernandes was then booked for his protests towards referee Craig Pawson.
The midfielder was unable to find a spark for United after Greenwood had brought them level, though he did play a role in the build up to the equaliser.
His electric performance at Old Trafford keeps him in the top four but he’ll be hoping to get back among the goals at Molineux next week.

3. Said Benrahma (up four)
West Ham may still want to sign Jesse Lingard, but on this evidence, Said Benrahma can more than fill the creative void the Manchester United midfielder has left behind.
Benrahma follwed up his opening day goal against Newcastle with another strike against Leicester as the Hammers capitalised on some slack defending from the Foxes.
He had already assisted Pablo Fornals for the opener and was a constant danger man for David Moyes’ side.
He also grabbed an assist against the Magpies last week and has now been directly involved in four goals this season, with only Paul Pogba ahead of him.
It’s Crystal Palace and Southampton to come next for the Hammers and Benrahma could easily cement his place in the top three.

2. Paul Pogba (non-mover)
It was always going to be hard to top his performance against Leeds, but Paul Pogba was still influential for Manchester United against Southampton.
The midfielder grabbed another assist, taking his tally to five after he managed four at Old Trafford the week before.
The Frenchman kept the ball alive in the Saints’ penalty area and poked it across for Greenwood to finish.
Pogba came closest to scoring a second for United but could only fire wide after a powerful run through the Southampton defence. He also hit the crossbar in the first half.
The midfielder admitted he was frustrated by United’s inability to go on to win the game after equalising, but he will be determined to get three points at Wolves this weekend.

1. Michail Antonio (up three)
Michail Antonio is now West Ham’s all-time leading Premier League goalscorer and the man of the moment is our new leader after his display against Leicester.
The striker scored twice against the Foxes, with his first taking him above Paulo Di Canio in the Hammers’ Premier League goalscoring charts.
Antonio’s celebration was one to remember, with the striker holding up a huge cardboard cut-out of himself before giving it a kiss.
He netted again four minutes after his first and is now the leading scorer in the Premier League with three goals.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Antonio said: ‘It’s amazing. I’m trying to make history, it’s always in the back of your mind.
‘In the first half, I was overdoing it but in the second half I played the way I normally play.’
The forward fully deserves his place at the top, even if he did confuse Save the Last Dance and Dirty Dancing in his post-match interview.
Speaking about his celebration, Antonio said: ‘That was “Save the Last Dance”,’ Antonio grinned.
‘I’ve not been celebrating a lot due to VAR but making history I had to do it. It would have been proper embarrassing if they ruled it out.’
But how long can he hold on to first place for? With Crystal Palace and Southampton up next, there’s every chance he could add to his goal tally.
