Gymnast Simone Biles shows off abs in a gold bikini while in Mexico with pals

Simone Biles showed off her incredible figure in a black and gold string bikini while enjoying drinks and snacks with her pals during their relaxing girls’ trip to Mexico.

The 24-year-old, who arrived in Cabo San Lucas on Thursday, has been soaking up the sun with her close pals Kayla Simone, Rachel Moore, and Steph Magellan ahead of her upcoming Gold Over America Tour (GOAT) this fall.

Biles has donned a number of fashionable swimsuits since her arrival, and Monday’s look was no exception. The two-piece featured a black and gold lamé bandeau and matching string bottoms, perfect for a day in the sun.

The Olympian paired the trendy look with practical pieces, including a sheer black coverup and a bucket hat to shield her face from the sun.

She wore her long microbraids loose around her shoulders, a look that she has favorited throughout the vacation.

Biles topped off the fashion-forward beach ensemble with orange sandals and plenty of jewelry, including layered necklaces, her belly-button ring, and her nose ring.

The athlete donned the bikini while on the beach and lounging by the pool with her friends. She had her cellphone with her, and she was seen looking at it as they strolled through the pool area.

The pals were also spotted enjoying some snacks by the pool, just like any other twenty-something on vacation.

Over the weekend, Biles and her best friends were seen frolicking in the pool, with the gymnast wowing in a colorful two-piece that was connected by a string across her toned tummy.

Biles has been documenting much of the girls’ trip on her Instagram account, posting several photos of herself modeling different bikini styles, both on the beach and by the personal pool in her hotel suite.

In her latest swimsuit shoot, the Olympian flashes her toned derriere in a barely-there white bikini while posing happily on the beach at her luxurious resort.

Biles is seen with her body turned towards the ocean she she glances over her shoulder at the camera, using one hand to hold onto a straw beach hat that she wore over her long braids.

‘Tropic like it’s hot,’ she cheekily captioned the beachside snapshot.

Just hours later, she returned to Instagram to reveal that she had the opportunity to release baby turtles into the sea, something she has always wanted to do.

She posted a series of pictures and videos of the incredible experience, which she shared with her friends Kayla Simone, Rachel Moore, and Steph Magellan.

In one of the images, Biles is kneeling on the beach and holding two baby turtles in her gloved hands. She is dressed casually in a cream crop-top with a plunging neckline and a pair of white cutoff shorts.

Other photos show her holding a baby turtle up to the ocean and all of her friends bonding with the tiny creatures.

Biles also included videos of the turtles in their cage and them being released into the wild. She and her friends were mildly concerned that one of the turtles was ‘going the wrong way.’

‘Baby turtle release,’ she wrote in the caption. ‘Crossing this off my bucketlist!’

She posted additional footage of the moment on her Instagram Stories for her 6.9 million followers to enjoy, including a video of herself making a sad face with her friend as the turtles walked toward the ocean.

The Olympian later changed into a colorful bandeau top to enjoy a mean with her friends. On her Instagram Stories, she posted a snapshot of Moore  making a face in front of her dinner.

‘This ONE piece of shrimp was $5,’ Biles joked in the caption. ‘We need to go home hahaha @rachelgirl528.’

Since arriving at the beach at the end of last week, Biles has shared dozens of photos and videos from her trip, including several snaps of herself showing off her enviably toned figure in a variety of bikinis.

In one photo, the Texan is seen posing in a rainbow-colored two-piece bathing suit while holding onto a palm tree, while another shows her wearing the same ensemble and offering her Instagram followers a close-up look at her six-pack.

Other photos and videos see her sporting a strapless gold and black bikini top with a black bucket hat — a look that she also modeled in a cheeky mirror selfie that showed her sticking her tongue out at the camera while twirling a lock of hair in her fingers.

As well as her poolside photos, Biles has been sharing content from their nights out, including a snap of the foursome toasting cocktails.

In another shot, she is toasting what looks like a margarita with a spicy rim, while looking every inch the beach babe in an orange tank top and tiny denim shorts.

She has also offered several glimpses at the group’s very luxe accommodations for the trip, revealing that their suite at the seaside resort boasts its own outdoor pool.

Biles has just a few weeks of time off before she hits the road for her GOAT tour, which is sponsored by Athleta, a brand for which she serves as a spokesmodel.

She will be joined  by several other gymnasts — including four of the five women who competed alongside her for Team USA in Tokyo.

Jade Carey, who won a gold medal on the floor exercise; Mykayla Skinner, who took silver on the vault; and team silver medalists Jordan Chiles and Grace McCallum have all confirmed their participation in the events, which will see them traveling around the country starting in September.

French Olympic gymnast Melanie De Jesus Dos Santos — who is a two-time European champion — has also joined the all-star cast of athletes, she revealed on Thursday.

However, all-around champion Suni Lee, 18, who took gold in the same event that Biles won in 2016, will not be on the tour, having already kicked off her freshman year of college at Auburn University.

The newly-minted college athlete is the first U.S. all-around champion to compete in the NCAA competition, having already made history as the first-ever Hmong-American gymnast to represent the U.S. at an Olympic Games.

Carey, 21, and McCallum, 18, have opted to take their studies on the road with them this fall. Carey, a student at Oregon University, and McCallum, an incoming freshman at the University of Utah, will start their classes online during the tour.  Meanwhile, Chiles, 20, is waiting until January 2022 to kick off her freshman year at UCLA.

The Olympic gymnasts will be showing off their famous routines in 35 cities across the country on the GOAT tour, which kicks off in Tucson, Arizona, on September 21 and ends in Boston, Massachusetts, on November 7.

As a headliner, Biles will likely earn her a hefty sum in the process. Tickets for the lucrative events cost up to $200 each, although the most expensive VIP packages are priced at a staggering $349 per person.

Biles proudly shared a photo of the team posing together in their gold leotards on Instagram Thursday, writing: ‘TEAM REUNION. I’m thrilled to announce the addition of Grace and Jade! Can’t wait to hang with my squad again SOON!’

Despite her struggles in Tokyo, Biles confirmed that the tour would be going ahead, noting that the events would not require her to perform the same high-risk skills that triggered her ‘twisties.’

Before her trip to Mexico, Biles revealed that she’s now overcome the ‘petrifying’ mental health issue that forced her to pull out of multiple events at the Olympics and is getting back to her gymnastics best.

Her quest for Olympic gold in Tokyo was blighted by a condition known as the ‘twisties,’ which left her unable to perform even the most basic of twisting skills and saw her withdraw from contention in the all-around, uneven bars, vault, and floor exercise finals — all of which she was widely expected to win.

However, just two weeks after returning from Japan, Biles has recovered from the mental issue, revealing to People magazine that she ‘can do everything again.’

Speaking about her return to training at her home gym in Spring, Texas, Biles explained that her coach, Laurent Landi, encouraged her to start performing her twisting skills on a trampoline — only for her to find that the tricks had become ‘second nature again.’

‘It’s frustrating because I can do everything again. I don’t know… the stress, anxiety, the build-up or whatever happened, happened,’ she said while promoting her upcoming tour.

The gymnast, who left the 2016 Rio Olympics with a haul of five medals, including four golds, admitted that her coach had ‘called it’ when they were still in Japan, telling her: ‘The annoying part is we’re going to go home in a week or more. You’re going to go back in the gym and you’re going to be able to do everything.’

Biles has yet to reveal whether or not she plans to keep training for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, but her recovery from the ‘twisties’ will no doubt provide further motivation for her to return to elite competition in the hopes of replicating the success she had at the 2016 Games.

If she is to make it to Paris, she will be 27 years old and likely the oldest gymnast competing for Team USA.

It now seems that the gymnast will be more than capable of pulling off her more difficult tricks, having managed to complete several of them without any issues during her first few training sessions back in Texas.

Biles told People that the first thing her coach wanted her to work on was a full-twisting double back, two flips backward with a twist on the first flip, which she did without a problem, before trying a double-double (two somersaults and two twists mid-air), which she said was ‘pretty low, but so far so good.’

As for now, Biles is focused on her upcoming tour, with will also feature a segment on mental health advocacy.

‘With all of us, granted the platforms we have been blessed with, it is really important because we have a lot of followers who look up to us,’ she told People.

‘If we start speaking out in things we believe in or that we know is right from wrong, then they’ll also find the courage to do the same thing because we’re somebody they look up to.’
