‘Amazing’: Mrs Hinch fans share best tips to leave shower door ‘gleaming’

Cleaning star Mrs Hinch, whose real name is Sophie Hinchcliffe, rose to fame on social media. Her effective cleaning hacks have attracted more than 4.1 million followers on Instagram.

Inspired by her techniques, cleaning fans have formed their own social media groups dedicated to helping others to spruce up their home.

One social media user who sought help with cleaning the glass on a shower door, which had been left with water stains, received more than 100 responses with tips on how to tackle the stubborn marks.

Responding to the post, one person suggested: “Dettol spray – comes up lovely and smells fab too.”

A second person advised: “Magic sponge, water, squeegee and a microfibre cloth – that’s all you need. Will come up gleaming.”

 “The Pink Stuff foam spray is the best,” suggested another, “leave on and wipe off then dry with a glass cloth or minky.”

One group member advised using Nana’s Secret Natural Cleaning Clay, adding: “Amazing stuff.”

Another person recommended using Koh with a microfibre cloth.

While one online user suggested Bar Keepers Friend.

Agreeing that the cleaning product had proven effective, another person said: “I second that – especially when it’s got water marks on it.”

One person suggested: “Fairy liquid and a Brillo pad – scrub and rinse. Then squeegee the water off or use a window vaccum. Then polish up with a glass cleaner (Minky green cloth and a glass spray).

Another online user recommended using White Vinegar Spray.

One group member said: “I use glass cleaner to finish and dry with a clean, dry microfibre cloth.”

While another person offered: “HG Limescale Remover is fab.”

Describing their technique, one person said: “Cif Power and Shine spray all over, rub lightly with a scourer sponge then rinse and dry with a dry cotton cloth.”

Sharing their method, another online user said: “Use half a lemon to wipe it all, then once clean, use daily shower spray after each use then you hardly need to clean it.”

Another group member advised spraying the glass shower door with Elbow Grease, adding: “Use a scourer to lift marks then buff with a dry cloth or minky.”
