Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda & more recall various snacks due to salmonella – ‘do not eat’

A food recall is issued when a product is unsafe to eat. This could be due to allergy or health and safety fears.

This means customers who have already bought any of the recalled products can return them to any UK supermarket selling them.

The products affected include four Mr Porky items, which are Mr Porky Original Scratchings, Mr Porky Crispy Strips, Mr Porky Crackles, and Mr Porky Prime Cut Scratchings.

All best before dates up to and including February 19, 2022, are affected.

The Mr Porky Original Scratchings come in various pack sizes, including 65g and 16.5g.

DON’T MISS:

The Mr Porky Crispy Strips and the Mr Porky Prime Cut Scratchings are in a 35g pack, while the Mr Porky Crackles come in a pack 70g in size.

Another product being recalled is Kay’s Pork Scratchings, which has the same best before date as the other snacks and come in a 60g pack.

The Real Pork Crackling Company Pork Crunch is also affected by the recall, and this again has the same best before date and comes in both 30g and 70g packs.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has published the food recalls on its website.

Tayto Group Ltd has also advised customers on what they should do if they have bought any of the products.

It said: “Check if you have bought the affected Best Before date of the products shown above.

“You can do this by taking a picture of this notice or writing down the Best Before for reference at home.

“Return the products to the store where you bought them for a full refund.”

The brand added: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
