‘Amazing’: Marks and Spencer to sell food range in more than 150 countries worldwide

For the first time ever, shoppers across the globe will be able to get their hands on M&S goods. Through British Corner Shop’s export platform, customers will be able to purchase anything from the iconic Percy Pig to luxury gold teabags.

More than 800 M&S products will be available on the site, allowing customers from America to Australia purchase the retailer’s food for the first time.

What’s more, delivery is guaranteed in one to three days.

With travel restrictions in place over the last year, British Corner Shop experienced a surge in demand for its products.

The company is the leading international exporter of British food products with a global customer base who shop the site’s range of more than 6,000 household brands.

In May, Marks and Spencer committed to more than doubling online retail sales by working with partners.

Through its partnership with British Corner Shop, M&S is able to rapidly roll out a wide range of its favourite food to customers across the world.

Paul Friston, Managing Director of International, said: “Our mission is to deliver efficient and low-cost ways to sell the best M&S to the world, and by partnering with British Corner Shop we’re able to instantly offer the best of M&S food to millions more customers.

“We’re always getting asked when our fantastic food range is going to be rolled out to new markets, so I’m delighted that from today we’re able to offer an expansive and delicious range of hero products customers love as well as the latest M&S innovations to over 150 new countries.”

Social media users were delighted with the move, with one Twitter user explaining: “This is amazing, a taste of home but abroad, I hope they open real life stores next.”

Another said: “Access finally to Percy Pigs, great news.”

As well as driving sales, Marks and Spencer has said it is committed to help reduce its plastic use.

It recently extended its ‘Fill Your Own’ trial to 11 stores nationwide, which offers over 60 lines of refillable food items.

Customers can take their own reusable containers and fill them up with groceries like pasta, rice, cereal, nuts and frozen fruit.

Bake-at-home items were also recently added to its list of available food, with customers able to pick up all butter croissants and pan aux chocolats.

At the time, Carmel McQuaid, Head of Sustainable Business, said: “Fill Your Own has been hugely popular with our customers since it launched.

“They’ve told us that it’s easy to understand, offers a huge variety of high-quality, great value M&S products they love and supports with portion control.

“Importantly, Fill Your Own is helping our customers – and our business – to reduce and reuse plastic and this initiative has the potential to save thousands of units each year.”
