OnlyFans Launches Free (Mostly) SFW Streaming Service

OnlyFans is starting a new streaming venture. And though the popular direct-to-consumer platform has risen to fame for its X-rated content, in a shocking twist, the U.K.-based company’s new service won’t have any sexually explicit material at all. That’s right — OFTV is made by the same folks, but without any of the content that makes OnlyFans, well, OnlyFans.

The free streaming service plans to feature original content from more than 100 OnlyFans creators, including fitness, cooking, comedy, health, music, and more. OnlyFans has already soft-launched OFTV, offering a content library of over 800 videos earlier this year. Currently, OFTV creator channels include Cheri Fit, Yoga With Taz, and Tennis Class with Adi.

Access to the company’s uncensored OnlyFans accounts is still only available to watch on the web, but to comply with OTT guidelines, the OFTV service will not include any sexually explicit content. OFTV is free to view and available as an app for devices like Android, iOS, Apple TV, Roku, Amazon’s Fire TV, Android TV and Samsung Smart TVs.

“From the onset of launching OnlyFans, we have been a creator-first platform to give creators further autonomy and power over their content,” Tim Stokely, OnlyFans founder and CEO, said in a statement. “We’re all about giving creators more opportunities to get their content out there and more ways for our community to access it.”

The news comes in conjunction with the premiere of Season 2 of OnlyFans’ original content series Unlocked, in which host Casey Boonstra interviews creators participating in mini-adventures, offering viewers a peek into each creator’s behind-the-scenes life.

OnlyFans was founded in 2016 and has reportedly paid more than $4.5 billion to creators. The company has over 130 million registered users, hosting 2 million creators worldwide.

OFTV does not include explicit imagery, although Apple’s App Store may persuade you otherwise. The app is assigned an age rating of “17+” (like an R-rated movie) for “infrequent/mild sexual content and nudity” and “frequent/intense mature/suggestive themes.” Welcome to the streaming wars, OnlyFans!
