'Left it a bit late' BBC’s Alex Jones issues hospital trip plea ahead of baby girl’s birth

Alex Jones, 44, took to Instagram earlier today to appeal for some advice from her followers. The One Show presenter shared how she was busy packing her bag for the hospital but had forgotten what she needed.

She asked her 303,000 followers to share suggestions about what she needs to bring in the candid video.

Posting on her stories, Alex said: “Warning everybody, this content is a little bit baby heavy.

“But I thought I should probably start thinking about a hospital bag.

“Left it a bit late and do you know what? I just cannot remember what’s supposed to go in.

Alex is having her third child with her husband Charlie Thomson soon.

The couple, who married back in 2015, are parents to Teddy, four, and Kit, two.

Earlier today, Alex had shared a pregnancy update as she posed with her growing baby bump.

Alongside the snap of her in a blue floral dress, she wrote: “Not much room left in there.”

The BBC presenter recently went on maternity leave from The One Show.

She announced her break from the nightly show on August 6 with an emotional Instagram post.

The star shared: “And just like that it’s time to say goodbye to the show temporarily and get ready to welcome our little girl.

“Thank you to everyone who sent their best wishes tonight.

“You’ll know that I’m prone to a good cry on the show at the best of times but seeing those messages at the end, especially from mum and dad and Charlie really set me off.”

Alex went on to thank her viewers for keeping her sane and their warm welcome every evening.

She continued: “I’ll miss being on that sofa at 7 and of course, the brilliant team who work so hard behind the scenes.

“That is actually the last time ever that I’ll sit on that particular sofa as we are having a bit of a revamp over the summer hols.”
