Korn's frontman Jonathan Davis tests positive for COVID-19, tour dates affected

The lead singer for Korn, Jonathan Davis, has tested positive for COVID-19 forcing the two-time Grammy Award winners to reschedule some tour dates and even cancel a pair.

The nu metal band – which hails from Bakersfield, California – took to their Facebook page on Monday to announce that the 50-year-old singer had tested positive for the novel coronavirus and it has had a major affect on their tour.

They wrote: ‘We really appreciate your patience as we work out the next steps for our tour. On Saturday, we received the unfortunate news that Jonathan tested positive for Covid, and needless to say, we had to postpone the show last minute.

‘As a result of his positive test, we also need to reschedule the next handful of shows.’

The Freak On A Leash hitmakers wanted to make sure their diehard fans knew that their safety is their priority before giving an update on the frontman.

They continued: ‘As always, our primary goal is to ensure the safety of everyone involved, so this is something that has to be done.

‘Jonathan’s spirits are high, and he’s resting and recovering now. We’re as disappointed as you are about the circumstances, but we’ll get through it though, and we can’t wait to see you once we’re back, firing on all cylinders once again.

‘We thank you all for your love and support!’

They listed out dates over the next week being postponed until late September/early October including Scranton, Wantagh, Hartsford, and Gilford.

The August 24th and 25th dates at the Darien Center and Syracuse in New York have both been cancelled as ticketholders will receive refunds.

This came after the band were forced to postpone their concert at Pennsylvania’s Pavilion at Montage Mountain in Scranton on Saturday due to the coronavirus.

‘Unfortunately, there has been a confirmed COVID-19 case within the Korn camp,’ the nu metal band – who boasts 15.6M social media followers – tweeted on Saturday.

‘The safety of our artists, crew, venue staff, and fans are our top priority, so we must postpone the show tonight. We’re deeply sorry for this unfortunate last minute news.

‘But please hold on to your tickets while we work to get your rescheduled date sorted ASAP with Live Nation and the Pavilion at Montage Mountain.’

Adding: ‘Thank you for your understanding, and stay safe out there. We’ll be back soon.’

However, the Can You Hear Me rockers have not postponed their show scheduled for this Tuesday at New York’s Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh.
