Kirstie Allsopp, 49, took to Twitter to defend the treatment of university students during the coronavirus pandemic. While many shared their opinions, one user took the opportunity to take a swipe at her and Location Location Location co-star Phil Spencer, 51. In view of her 424,000 followers, she commented: “I didn’t go to university. I know nothing about university.
“But I do know a disproportionate number of students who have had a heartbreakingly mismanaged experience in the last year, and not enough people are prepared to acknowledge that and do something about it.”
In response, a Twitter user commented: “Yep, it’s same as slaughtering innocent animals, many aware and turn a blind eye, especially when it’s a mate doing it.”
While Kirstie didn’t mention her co-star, she replied: “All animals are ‘innocent’ sadly some will starve to death if not properly managed in a humane way.
“Deer have no natural predators. Maybe we should introduce lions and let nature do it for us?”

The Twitter user hit back: “Or maybe spoilt little tv presenters should stop murdering innocent creatures purely for their own self gratification, to be defended by their mates? @Channel4.”
Kirstie is yet to respond to the latter comment, which appears to be a swipe at her co-star Phil.
The presenter has come under fire in recent months after it was revealed he enjoyed animal hunting.
A video, which was originally aired in 2011 on the Fieldsports Channel, an online TV station – saw him examining a dead deer and discussing his “cheeky shot”.
The pair began shooting pigeons before they moved onto the deer.
The presenter has previously defended his animal hunting ways.
In a statement to the Daily Mail online in 2011, he said he had been involved in “different types of fieldsports” since he was a child.
“It’s something I’m very comfortable about. It’s part of me – it’s my complete passion,” he continued.
He added: “Around 100,000 deer are culled in the UK each year, not purely related to crop protection, but this is an absolutely necessary precaution against overpopulation. I took this particular animal home and it has since fed around 35 people.”
“I’m sorry if killing such a beautiful animal is difficult for some people to stomach,” added Phil.
“But I would also hope that anyone who enjoys eating any type of meat stops to appreciate that their chicken, sheep, cow, pig etc also had to die in order to end up on their dinner plate – and almost certainly had a less fulfilling life than this wild fallow buck did.”
A representative for Kirstie and Phil had no comment when approached by Express.co.uk.
She has so far remained silent about Phil’s animal hunting ways.
The pair have been working together on the Channel 4 reality show for over two decades.
