‘Always works for me!’ Mrs Hinch fans share £1 hack for getting rid of ants from lawns

Ants can destroy garden lawns, especially if they are nesting. While they can be beneficial to your garden’s ecosystem, too many ants can be bothersome. Now, fans of cleaning and tidying sensation Mrs Hinch have shared their go-to product for ousting ants.

Mrs Hinch, whose full name is Sophie Hinchliffe, became famous after she shared her cleaning and tidying tips on social media and TV.

She now has over 4.1 million followers on Instagram.

Fans of hers have created their own social media groups groups dedicated to sharing cleaning, tidying and gardening tips.

On a group dedicated to sharing gardening tips, one user asked how they can get rid of their ants.

They asked: “Can we talk ants? Please can somebody give me a tried and tested method of getting rid of them?

“So talc or chalk on paving will stop them…but they may go upwards on a fence to avoid it!”

Another individual said: “Talc powder always works for me.”

A third suggested: “Talc or baby powder.”

A fourth penned: “Talc powder always works for me.”

“They hate talcum powder,” said another person.

“It kills them instantly but then put powder down so they take it to their nest.”

A third said: “I found the Nippon ant bait stations very effective, but they only last a few weeks so you need to keep replacing them.

“The take the poison inside back to the nest. So unless your pets/children break one open and eat it, it is safe.”

Another person said: “Nippon powder around nest entry.

“They take it in and feed it to the Queen.”
