Bob Odenkirk gives health update after heart attack: ‘I am doing great’

Bob Odenkirk says he’s feeling good after he suffered a small heart attack on the set of his AMC show “Better Call Saul” last month.

“I am doing great,” he tweeted on Friday evening.

“I’ve had my very own ‘It’s a wonderful life’ week of people insisting I make the world slightly better,” he added — referencing the famed Frank Capra film in which George Bailey gets a glimpse of what the world would be like if he’d never been born. “Wow! Thank you, I love everyone right now but let’s keep expectations reasonable!”

The 58-year-old actor was rushed to the hospital on July 27 after collapsing on the set of the Emmy-winning show. Odenkirk was filming in New Mexico when the incident occurred.

A few days later, Odenkirk confirmed that he’d suffered a small heart attack, but assured fans he was doing OK.

“Thank you. To my family and friends who have surrounded me this week,” he wrote on Twitter. “And for the outpouring of love from everyone who expressed concern and care for me. It’s overwhelming. But I feel the love and it means so much.”

He added that he’s taking a “beat” but pledged that he’ll “be back soon.”

Odenkirk’s celebrity pals took to social media after the news of the heart attack broke to send their well-wishes.

“I will share what I know when I can but Bob is one of the strongest people I know both physically and spiritually. He WILL get through this,” comedian David Cross wrote.

His former “Breaking Bad” co-star Bryan Cranston asked fans, “Please take a moment in your day today to think about him and send positive thoughts and prayers his way, thank you.”
