One Direction: Liam Payne wants to cover one of 1D member's songs

One Direction split up back in 2015 and ever since fans have been hoping for some sort of reunion. While it has looked like the quartet could be getting back together in the coming years, the details have remained shrouded in mystery. For now, however, Liam has revealed how much he loves his pals’ songs.

Liam recently held an Instagram Live to chat with his fans about his future.

During the livestream the 27-year-old spoke candidly about wanting to get back on stage and perform again.

While he was talking about this, he confessed: “I think I’d also like to cover, for one of the shows – if you guys let me do this again – some of the boys’ solo songs.”

The One Direction band members have always been on very good terms since they split and Liam wants to continue this trend.

Liam went on to suggest he sings one of Harry Styles’ songs

He said: “I mean: ‘Watermelon Sugar… high!’ a lot of fun.”

He also mused about singing other tracks from his former pals, mentioning Niall Horan’s Slow Hands.

Of course, Liam playing Watermelon Sugar would be a monumental moment for the 1D fandom.

Liam went on: “I’m sorry, how can you not? I’m dead proud of everyone, it’s wicked!”

Although the Strip That Down singer seems keen on reuniting the band in one way or another, he previously revealed he was “pleased” when they split up.

He told The Diary of a CEO Podcast last month: “I know a lot of people are going to be mad at me for saying that, but I needed to stop or it would kill me.

“In the band … the best way to secure us, because of how big we’d got, was just to lock us in our rooms.”

Liam continued: “What’s in the room? A mini-bar. So, at a certain point I thought, I’m just going to have a party-for-one and that seemed to carry on for many years of my life.”

He added: “Then you look back at how long you’ve been drinking and you’re like: ‘Jesus Christ, that’s a long time.’

“It was wild, but it was the only way you could get the frustration out.”
