Spain could move to 'amber watchlist' this week as PM warns holidays 'still dangerous'

From today, double-jabbed travellers don’t have to quarantine when coming from the US or EU countries.

Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, said: “I’m very pleased that today, because of the vaccine rollout, we are able to say to people coming back from anywhere in the EU, plus Switzerland and the US, that they don’t have to quarantine.

“I understand people care very much about the holidays, they want to go abroad and I understand they want to plan and prepare for the summer holidays but we also have to remember that this is still a dangerous virus and we must try to stop more variants coming in from abroad,” he explained.

However, there are concerns an ‘amber watchlist’ could be added to the UK’s traffic light system in the next review, to which the Prime Minister said he just wants “simple and user-friendly” rules.
