The concept is also been tested in Thurmaston, Stowmarket, Rugby, Leyton, and Bedminster.
In these Asda stores between one and four bays with bulk items will be added.
The trial will bring a range of nearly 40 lines to Asda’s York store, which is set to receive a 10 bay standalone offer from this week.
Later this year it will be joined by Asda Dumbarton which will offer a 32 bay trial – the largest range of bulk buy products available in any Asda store.
Customers in Cardiff, York, Milton Keynes, Dumbarton, Bootle and Toryglen will be able to take advantage of great savings such as 11p per wash on Fairy Platinum Dishwasher Tabs and 25p per can on 24 packs of Dr Pepper – offering better value than smaller pack sizes.
The supermarket also plans to make a selection of bulk buy products available online for customers receiving home shopping deliveries from the trial stores.
A Bristol store was opened earlier in the year to test the exciting new concept.
At the time Matt Dodd, store manager at Asda Patchway, said: “Customers in Bristol have been chosen to help us open and test a new idea around wholesale retail called The Deal Depot.
