In order to get the ball rolling, Matt advised his parents to start on a small breed so they can see what would work for the farm.
However, when it came to getting rid of the sheep and choosing her new flock, Janice broke down in tears as she struggled to come to terms with the changes to save the farm.
“It’s quite a strange feeling really, sitting here doing this in the sunshine,” Janice admitted.
The star was overcome with emotion as she continued: “It’s the first time I’ve actually had to make a decision because of what’s happened.
“It’s the right decision. I know it’s the right decision and you reach a time in your life when you think ‘I really can’t do this anymore’.
“In that respect it’s sad, but in a good way, a fork in the road might mean good things will come from it in a different way.”
