This is the hilarious moment a seagull barks back at a man on his balcony in Liverpool.
Footage filmed by Wayne Scholes opens with a loud seagull squawking normally on his balcony.
‘Hey, look, I think my seagull barks. Watch this…’ he says before barking like a dog.
The bird hesitates for a moment before making a new sound, one that sounds just like a bark.

The pair go back and forth barking. The man changes up his barks here and there, but the seagull keeps the same three-bark tune.
Gully the seagull – as the man calls him – has a chick who cannot fly yet, so the bird hangs out the balcony of Scholes flat.
‘I work in Liverpool, England, a lot and have a flat there. Gully is a seagull I have become friends with and she lives on my balcony whilst she is raising her baby.
‘The baby doesn’t fly yet,’ he said.
Their relationship started when Scholes politely asked Gully if she could be a little quieter.
Scholes said the seagull has been staying on his balcony since her baby cannot fly yet. He asked the bird to bark instead of squawk after she was being too noisy, and to his surprised, she did
He said: ‘Gully can be quite noisy. One night I asked her politely if she could try making a less obnoxious noise. I suggested barking.
‘To my surprise, she copied me! Every day I’ll call at her and she’ll bark at me.’
Usually an aggressive breed, Gully has become fond of the man. He said: ‘We’ve become pretty good friends.’
Seagulls can’t fly until they’re six to eight weeks old, so it seems this man and his barking Gully have weeks of fun left together.
