Barack Obama is planning star-studded 60th birthday party at his Martha's Vineyard mansion

Barack Obama plans to ring in his 60th birthday hosting a party at his Martha’s Vineyard mansion with a star-studded guest list who’ve all been COVID tested.

It has been reported that big names such as Oprah Winfrey and George Clooney have already scored an invite to join the former president.

The party will take place at Obama’s his $11.75 million 30-acre oceanside getaway on the exclusive Massachusetts island as he hits the big birthday on August 4.

All guests have been asked to provide a negative COVID-19 test ahead of the bash, it has been claimed, as virus cases in the US begin to spike once again.

One source simply told The Hill, ‘It’s going to be big.’

Obama turns 60 on August 4 and has a reputation of large and legendary birthday bashes to maintain.

Ten years ago, when he turned 50, then-President Obama hosted a number of celebrity guests at the White House, including Oprah Winfrey, musicians Jay-Z and Stevie Wonder, actor Tom Hanks, comedian Chris Rock, and basketball legends Charles Barkley and Grant Hill, along with a mix of politicians and Chicago law school friends.

It was reported that the former president was set to charge up to $35,800 per couple for tickets for a separate 50th birthday party in his home city of Chicago, which doubled as a fundraising event for his re-election campaign.

Tickets for that fundraiser started at just $50, for which party-goers got to see the limited seating concert. The ‘tiered’ event was said to include singer and actress Jennifer Hudson. Obama’s team had set a public goal of $60 million combined.

The main White House celebration began with a barbecue feast of chicken, ribs, hamburgers, hot dogs, pasta and salad in the Rose Garden, followed by four kinds of pie: apple, peach, huckleberry and cherry. At the end of that meal, Michelle Obama and daughters Malia and Sasha presented the president with a cake before sending the crowd indoors for musical performances and a dance party.

The party was rumored to have carried into the following day as the soiree eating barbecue and dancing.

This year’s celebration will be held at the seven-bedroom, nearly 7,000-foot mansion where the Obamas regularly vacation and have spent the past few weeks.

The former First Family purchased their beloved getaway spot for $11.75 million in 2019- just a portion of their combined net worth of $70 million.

The 29 acres of beachfront property had previously been owned by Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck.

The house was originally listed for $14,850,000 but TMZ reports the Obamas managed to obtain a huge discount and secured the 6,900sq ft home for $11.75 million.

The enormous property has a swimming pool, outdoor fire pit and vaulted ceilings with two wings which run from the main house serving as the perfect place to host guests.

Outdoors, the land comes with its own private beach, a boathouse and has plenty of land if the Obamas were hoping to expand.

Last February, local paper MV Times reported the Obamas were doing some renovations according to a public notice.

The project ‘involves the construction of an addition to an existing boathouse/gym, the enlargement of patios, the construction of a firepit, and related landscaping and site improvements.’

‘It’s a remarkable home on an absolutely gorgeous setting,’ listing agent Tom Wallace previously said ‘privacy is a key feature of the property.

‘It certainly has the capacity to expand to more of a compound. One could build two additional full-size properties if one wanted to create a generational meeting place’ the article added.

The home is on the edge of Edgartown Great Pond, with views of the Atlantic Ocean.

It features predominantly white interiors but is surrounded by emerald-green lawns.

Michelle and Barack will have a lot of space to relax, as the master bedroom opens up to a sundeck, while their daughters will have plenty of room to enjoy long summer breaks there.

Malia, 23, is currently studying at Harvard University, while Sasha, 20, has begun studying at the University of Michigan.

The couple appeared to fall in love with the mansion in 2018 when they were renting it for their summer vacation.

That same year, the Obamas sold their summer home on the island for $15 million. They are no strangers to the island having spent seven summers there while Barack was President.
