Adele 'to return to the stage after four year absence with residency slot'

Adele has been a little absent from the public eye in the last few years. The singer, 33, last released an album, 25, in 2015. Not only did it top the charts globally, it also went 12x platinum and sold more than 22 million units worldwide. Following the album’s release, she toured parts of the world before finishing her run in front of more than 97,000 fans at Wembley Stadium in June 2017. Now, she is rumoured to be claiming a spot in the same place as some legendary musical icons including Elvis Presley and Cher.

Adele is reportedly considering a residency slot in one of Las Vegas’ newest venues, Resorts World.

The news comes from The Sun, who claims the British singer could be making upwards of £100,000 a night.

The exact same venue has hosted the likes of Celine Dion, Carrie Underwood and Katy Perry.

The report goes on to say Adele could step foot in the venue in January 2022.

A residency in Las Vegas would mean Adele would be performing to 5,000 people a night – far fewer than she is used to.

This could be a good thing for the star, however, who revealed in 2017 she suffers from stage fright and anxiety attacks.

She said at the time: “I get so nervous with live performances that I’m too frightened to try anything new.”

She added: “I have anxiety attacks, constant panicking on stage, my heart feels like it’s going to explode because I never feel like I’m going to deliver, ever.”

The source added that Adele is “excited for the world to hear it”. (Via E!)

Even more interesting is the rumour that the new album will “tell all” about her divorce from her husband of five years, Simon Konecki.

However, she may not be signing up to tour her new album anytime soon.

Adele has previously spoken about touring and why she doesn’t want to make a return to it in the future.

Adele said: “Touring isn’t something I’m good at – applause makes me feel a bit vulnerable. I don’t know if I will ever tour again.”

Adele told her fans: “The only reason I’ve toured is you. I’m not sure if touring is my bag. My greatest accomplishment in my career is this tour.”

She also explained how she would rather be in one place in order to stay near her son, who is now eight years old.
