‘Captain America’ writers: The studly superhero is no virgin

Even superheroes get it on

In a new interview about an old movie, two writers of 2011’s “Captain America: The First Avenger” have answered an apparently still-burning fan question: Did Captain America ever lose his virginity — and if so, when?

“Why do people think he’s a virgin?” asked film writer Stephen McFeely, questioning the running Marvel pundit joke that, as a result of the character being frozen in ice for over 60 years, he never had sex — or at least not for a very long time.

As for his opinion, “I think he loses his virginity!” McFeely declared to Yahoo! Entertainment.

His reasoning is that Captain America — and thus also his alter ego, meek artist turned super-soldier Steve Rogers) — likely had plenty of opportunities to sleep around while on his war bond-promoting USO Tour.

“If you look like that, and you’re going to city to city, and you’re signing autographs for the likes of the ladies that he’s signing the autographs for, I’ve got to imagine that [he lost his virginity],” McFeely told the publication.

His fellow movie writer Christopher Markus is on the same page.

“Steve Rogers isn’t a prude,” Markus agreed. “He may be occasionally presented that way. He’s a guy that believes in right and wrong and all these things, but he’s not a choirboy. He’s a World War II veteran.”

Meanwhile, no one seems to be questioning whether Captain America’s silver screen alter-ego, Chris Evans, is a virgin or not. Online denizens, however, are known to question whether Evans is, objectively, the “worst” Chris.

And the actor recently showed fans his less-than-superhuman side in an Instagram post displaying a massive bruise on his arm, acquired while filming the upcoming spy thriller “The Gray Man.”

“It’s like watching the leaves turn in autumn, but condensed into one painful afternoon,” Evans captioned the image. “(Got into a little tussle with the Gray Man).”
