Britney Spears has just scratched the surface on spilling the painful secrets behind her allegedly “abusive” 13-year conservatorship.
The “Toxic” singer, 39, wrote on Instagram Tuesday that although she recently wrote “life goes on” in a now-deleted post, she has a lot more to say before turning the page on this chapter of her life.
“In that moment that’s what felt was the easiest to say but I think we all know that I will never be able to let go and fully move on until I’ve said all I needed to say … and I’m not even close !!!!” she captioned a meme that read “One Day at a Time,” adding, “I was told to stay quiet about things for so long and I finally feel like I’m just getting here 🕊️🕊️🕊️ !!!!”
On June 23, Britney publicly spoke out against the conservatorship and her father, Jamie Spears, for the first time at a virtual court hearing.
During her 24-minute testimony, the pop star alleged that her conservators did not allow her to marry or have a baby and forced her to go to a mental health facility in 2019.
The “Oops! … I Did It Again” singer also said at the time that she had kept quiet because she was “in denial” and wanted to “fake it ’til you make it.”
“I’ve lied and told the whole world I’m OK and I’m happy,” she said. “I’ve been in denial. I’ve been in shock. I am traumatized … I’m not happy. I can’t sleep. I’m so angry, it’s insane. And I’m depressed. I cry every day.”
The battle continued on July 14, when Britney again used her voice to tell Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny that she wanted to charge her father with “conservatorship abuse.”
“I thought they were trying to kill me … If this is not abuse, I don’t know what is,” she said through tears, calling the conservatorship “f–king cruelty.”
Since then, Britney has also taken to social media to call out members of her family, whom she feels turned their backs on her when she needed them most.
Over the weekend, she seemingly mocker her “mean ass” sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, after she bashed her in a separate post, saying she didn’t like that the “Zoey 101” alum, 30, had “showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes” in 2017.
In February, following the successful release of The New York Times’ “Framing Britney Spears” documentary, a source exclusively told Page Six that the “Lucky” singer wanted to work on a doc about her life — said in her own words — with a top female filmmaker.
However, the source noted that under her current conservatorship, Britney “fears her father could take control of the film to paint himself in a better light.”
In March, following Oprah Winfrey’s bombshell interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Britney fans clamored for the media mogul to interview the Grammy winner next.
However, a source told us at the time that any rumors of a Winfrey interview were merely “created/started by social media chatter.”
