Asda issues recall on chicken, books and more – including salmonella fears & choking risk

Product and food recalls can be shared when items pose a possible risk to shoppers. Asda has issued a warning on a number of things sold in stores.

Asda has updated the warning on the books as there could be a choking hazard.

A statement said: “Ladybird Books is instigating an urgent product recall on this title due to the discovery of a manufacturing fault on some copies where the foil lamination on the cover of the book can be peeled off.

“Small parts of foil could be a choking hazard to small children.”

Anyone who has purchased the book should take it away from small children.

DON’T MISS

It can be returned to the store where it was bought for a full refund.

A receipt is not needed and only the Hey Duggee titles listed are thought to be affected.

Asda Frozen Vegan Mushroom and Leek Pie

The supermarket chain continues to have a notice out for the vegan pie product.

All date codes are affected and the product’s barcode is 505717223369.

Some packs may have the presence of milk, which is not listed on the label.

A statement explained: “Asda is recalling all date codes of Frozen Vegan Mushroom and Leek Pie (170g) because some packs may contain trace amounts of milk constituents which are not mentioned on the label.

“Milk is not declared on the packaging, so this means that the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.”

Those who have bought the food item and have an allergy or intolerance to milk can return it to stores for a refund.
