A Queens driver was shot in the stomach by another motorist after he punched the gunman in the face in an apparent road rage incident, police sources said.
The victim, 32, was involved in some kind of dispute with the driver of a Nissan Sentra when their two vehicles came to a stop in traffic on Queens Boulevard near 65th Place at about 7:30 p.m., the sources said.
The argument escalated, and the man got out of his vehicle and punched the other driver through his car window, sources said.
The driver of the Nissan then pulled out a gun and shot the man in the stomach — and sped off, according to sources.
The wounded man was taken to Elmhurst Hospital with what are believed to be non life-threatening injuries, sources said.
The NYPD was searching for surveillance video and ballistic evidence in the area, sources added.
