Monty Don: Gardener shares ‘floral good luck’ for England team ahead of Euro 2020 Final

Gardening expert Monty Don shared his own good luck charm on social media today for the England team. The England team will be playing against Italy tonight at 8pm BST in the Euro 2020 Final. The Gardeners’ World presenter, who confessed he’s not a “football fan”, said on Twitter he couldn’t help feel caught up in the excitement of the Euro 2020 Final.

He said: “I’m not really a football fan (the Lions I support are playing with a different shaped ball in South Africa) but can’t help be caught up in today’s excitement.

“So here is floral good luck for the team tonight.”

The tweet received over 3,000 likes and has received a plethora of comments.

One person said: “Wow, this is really wonderful, there Don!

The floral design included what appears to be white daisies and red oriental poppies.

The daisy variety looks like the shasta daisy which is a low maintenance perennial plant.

It looks like the common daisy but grows in bushes.

The red poppies have been designed to create the red cross in the St George’s flag while the daisies represent the white field.
