Kate Middleton looks chic in a £695 crepe pink midi dress as she arrives at the All England Club

Today might just end up being the ultimate sporting Sunday – and Kate Middleton appeared to be thoroughly enjoying it as she cheered on players at the Wimbledon finals at SW19 with a Mexican wave – and crossed her fingers over hopes for the England team at Wembley tonight.

The Duchess of Cambridge looked a vision of summer chic in a £695 crepe midi dress in blush pink by London-based designer Beulah, paired with budget-conscious £30 Nicholes court shoes in nude from Aldo.

The royal teamed her stylish look with a Josef beaded flap clutch bag, Mappin & Webb Empress drop earrings and a pretty pink and white floral face covering.

Kate, 39, who was forced to miss most of the second week of Wimbledon after being forced to self-isolate from last Friday, looked delighted to be there for the final day of action.

She watch the Gentlemen’s Wheelchair Singles Final between Gordon Reid and Joachim Gerard on court three – and later joined VIPs in the Royal Box on Centre Court to watch Novak Djokovic beat Matteo Berrettini.

Cheered on by a British crowd in a manner Italy’s footballers could only dream of, Rome native Berrettini could not prevent a 6-7, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3 defeat to the world No 1 which took three hours and 24 minutes.

It is Djokovic’s sixth Wimbledon title and means he draws level with Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal on 20 Grand Slams.

The Duchess of Cambridge joined the Duke of Kent on Centre Court to present the trophy to Djokovic. After over five decades as President of Wimbledon, the Duke of Kent is stepping down from the post. He was presented with a replica of the men’s singles trophy to mark the occasion.

A tweet from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridges’ official account shortly after the match read: ‘A fantastic #Wimbledon final – what a match Novak Djokovic and Matteo Berrettini Congratulations @DjokerNole on your record-equalling victory!’

Throughout the match Kate and Michael Middleton appeared in excellent spirits and leaned in close to chat to each other.

Earlier Kate chatted to tennis fans and appeared to make the good luck gesture in reference to the England match at Wembley this evening.

The Duchess of Cambridge was forced into isolation for a week after being ‘pinged’ by Track and Trace last Friday. She had come into contact with someone the previous Wednesday who had subsequently tested positive for Covid-19.

She was first alerted about her contact’s positive test after spending most of the day at Wimbledon with VIPs including Tim Henman and Joe Wicks.

Kate is usually a regular visitor to SW19 but was only able to attend three days of the championships, including today.

Mr Middleton attended Wimbledon on Friday with his wife, Carole. Pippa Middleton has also been spotted in the stands with husband James Matthews.
