Star Wars' Temuera Morrison on 'suffering' for latest sci-fi epic Occupation Rainfall

Temuera Morrison is of course best known for portraying the bounty hunter duo Jango Fett and Boba Fett from the Star Wars series, but this month he is fighting for the freedom of Earth in a new movie from Signature Entertainment. Occupation Rainfall hits cinemas and digital tomorrow and is the follow-up to the 2018 film: Occupation.

Temuera reprises his role of Peter Bartlett, a man who has removed himself from the fight for humanity after creating his own settlement off the grid.

However, when the fight is unceremoniously brought back to his doorstep, he has no choice but to get involved once again.

Both Occupation and its sequel, Occupation Rainfall, were shot in Gold Coast Australia and Temuera recently told us how he got involved in the picture.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Temuera revealed: “We had a lot of fun, it’s such a dynamic place, the Gold Coast.”

Temuera went on: “I ran into [director] Luke [Sparke] and his wife and I said why not! They’re filmmakers out of north Australia.”

In particular, the 60-year-old was impressed by the scale and scope of the independent filmmaker’s project.

He went on: “They have visions, they have a script… so good on them. They got their project to the screen and that’s a big deal.”

When he was approached to appear in 2018’s Occupation Temuera did have another reason for getting involved in the first place, however.

Temuera went on: “It’s just great to see their film is out. It looks bigger. I was surprised at how big it is, good on them.”

Occupation Rainfall also gave Temuera the opportunity to get really stuck into his role physically; specifically running around with guns, fighting in crowds and really giving it his all.

With a chuckle, Temuera revealed: “We’re getting on in our years but we were getting physical and I needed to get moving.

“I said: ‘Hey! Give me more!'” He then assured us: “If you see my face [it’s me]. There’s no CGI here.”

Temuera laughed: “I know all about that, but I’m telling you, it was all me!”

The star added: “I’m suffering the consequences, don’t you worry.”

Temuera has obviously had a lot of fun creating both Occupation and Occupation Rainfall, but will he be returning for a threequel?

“Well, let’s say we’re always open – we’ve always gotta be open. You’ve gotta open the door … talk about things. We’ll see what happens.”

Occupation Rainfall hits cinemas and Digital tomorrow from Signature Entertainment.
