Piers Morgan refuses to back down amid backlash over Davina McCall's Diana statue critique

A fourth agreed: “Do these people not realise we truly value people with honest opinions! The meaning of the statue is great, the delivery, very poor! Opinions must be allowed.”

To commemorate their late mother, William, 39, and Harry, 36, began working on commissioning the statue in 2017, with it being erected on the day Diana would have celebrated her 60th birthday.

The late Princess tragically died aged 36 in August 1997 following a fatal car crash while travelling through Paris with her boyfriend, Dodi Fayed.

Despite the criticism from some social media users including Piers and Davina, the two Princes, Diana’s brother Earl Spencer and her sisters, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Lady Jane Fellowes appeared to be thrilled at the unveiling.
