Woman randomly attacked on NYC sidewalk

An elderly woman was seriously injured after a stranger randomly shoved her to the ground in Brooklyn earlier this month, police said Thursday.

The 76-year-old victim was walking on the sidewalk along Neptune Avenue near Brighton 4th Street in Brighton Beach when she was attacked by a man at about 10:40 a.m. on June 10, according to police.

The suspect, smoking a cigarette and walking a dog, shoved the woman to the ground with one hand after turning the corner, according to footage of the assault provided by police.

The woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to Coney Island Hospital for treatment, authorities said.
