A brown bear has been snapped taking a relaxing bath just like his human friends.

Balu the bear splashed around in the water littered with rose petals in his enclosure in Saratov, Russia.

He loves to roll around and soak in the water on his back like a person would do after a long day, according to his owner Ruslan Tsyvilev.

Ruslan acquired Balu during the pandemic as zoos began to lose money through lack of tourism, and now they live together.

Balu lived his early life in a zoo in Saratov, Russia, where he was picked up by owner Ruslam during the pandemic which crippled the finances of many zoos.

Saratov is a major port city on the Volga river in south-Western Russia, 241 miles from Volgograd and 533 miles south-east of Moscow.

Russia has one of the largest populations of brown bears in the world, with roughly 120,000 brown bears estimated to live throughout Russia’s forests with many more in captivity.
