Will Power Book 2 end with Tariq killing Monet and Lorenzo Tejada to escape drug life?

Power Book II: Ghost was the first of the four spin-offs to come out on Starz. The drama will be returning for a second series, picking up from where the first season left off with Tariq St Patrick (played by Michael Rainey Jr) to go at it alone without the support of his mum Tasha St Patrick (Naturi Naughton). But will the pressure be too much for the murdering youngster?

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Power Book II: Ghost.

Tariq started off working along with Monet Tejada (Mary J Blige) to help pay for his mum’s legal fees after being sent to prison for James “Ghost” St Patrick’s (Omari Hardwick) murder.

Tasha has since gone into the Witness Protection Programme with her son unaware of her whereabouts.

Tariq is expected to continue working for Monet but trouble is bound to be on the horizon with her husband Lorenzo Tejada (Berto Colon) to be released from prison during season two.

Despite making more money than he could have imagined, one fan predicts Tariq will soon be wanting an escape from this lifestyle.

Speaking to Deadline earlier this year, creator of the Power franchise Courtney Kemp disclosed how many seasons she would like to see for the Ghost spin-off series.

She said: “I think I have, in my mind I have five or six seasons.

“The big shift that would happen in Season 5, the big shift that I’m planning for season five would take the show in a direction where frankly it could go on forever.

“The show could go for 10 seasons or more considering that shift and it’s a big shift.

“But if that yeah, we could go forward for sure and do some fun stuff.

“But that depends on whether we make it there. You know, I would love to make it there, but it’s all about the fans.

“If the fans stay interested in the story that we want to tell then we will keep going forward, but I’m very excited about the long-term storytelling.”
