How to watch the 2021 US Open: Tee times, channel, streaming and odds

Phil Mickelson is all the rave heading into the 2021 US Open at Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, California.

The 51-year-old superstar won the PGA Championship last month, proving he can’t be counted out just yet.

Nevertheless, Mickelson has struggled at the U.S. Open. He is 0-for-29, making it the only major title missing from his résumé as he attempts to finish off the career Grand Slam.

The San Diego native won’t get any hometown favor on Torrey Pines’ South Course, where he’s been openly critical of Rees Jones’ 2001 redesign.

The path to success will be arduous as well. Mickelson will also have to contend tournament favorite and world No. 3 golfer Jon Rahm. Even though the 26-year-old had to withdraw after the third round of the Memorial Tournament due to a positive COVID-19 test, he had a six-stroke lead at 18 under when he departed.

Rahm has waited a year since his last victory, which came in a playoff over Dustin Johnson at the 2020 BMW Championship. The Spaniard is seeking his first major championship — the closest he came was a third-place finish at the 2019 U.S. Open.

Will fans be allowed at Torrey Pines for The 2021 US Open?

In 2008, the U.S. Open made history. 295,000 spectators ventured to Torrey Pines for practice days, four competition rounds and an 18-hole playoff between Tiger Woods and Rocco Mediate. This tournament will be quiet different. The 2021 US Open will host only a limited number of fans, given they have received the COVID-19 vaccine and will wear a mask.
