Cristiano Ronaldo slashes Trump Tower condo ask by $10.75M after backlash

Cristiano Ronaldo is willing to take a massive $10.75 million loss on his New York City Trump Tower condo following backlash, The Post can report.

The Portuguese soccer star, 36, first purchased the three-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom unit at 721 Fifth Avenue in 2015 for a whopping $18.5 million — before Donald Trump was elected president of the United States.

But fans’ calls to have the Juventus footballer sell the residence have apparently hit him.

Ronaldo first listed the 2,510-square-foot abode in 2019 for less than half of what he bought it for, at $9 million. But without any offers and amid a looming pandemic, the athlete has been forced to slash the price even further.

On May 19, property records reveal that the home is now on the market for only $7.75 million.

His reps have not returned The Post’s request for comment.

While this poses a significant loss for Ronaldo, he is probably not sweating it too much. In 2020, he became the first active team-sport athlete to surpass $1 billion in career earnings, according to Forbes.

His four-year contract with Juventus alone is worth an average of $64 million a year and expires in 2022.

The residence is also known to be the inspiration for “50 Shades’’ novel author E.L. James, who used the interior as a model for the notorious bondage bachelor pad of her fictional sexual sadist character, Christian Grey, sources previously told The Post.

Rumors have intensified in the past few years that Ronaldo could be joining his former teams of Real Madrid or Manchester United once his contract is up.

He is currently the most-followed celebrity on Instagram with 298 million followers.
