‘Explosive diarrhea’ halts production on NBC’s ‘Ultimate Slip ‘N Slide’ competition show

It was a crappy situation.

Production on NBC’s upcoming competition show “Ultimate Slip ‘N Slide” was halted after more than three dozen crew members were sickened by an outbreak of “awful explosive diarrhea,” according to a report on Friday.

The sickening conditions left people “collapsing” on set and “being forced to run into port-o-potties,” a source with knowledge of the incident told TheWrap.

Filming of the new Bobby Moynihan– and Ron Funches-hosted program, in which competitors complete various challenges on the classic outdoor slide, has now been shut down indefinitely, according to the outlet.

“The health and safety of everyone on our set is our number one priority, so out of an abundance of caution we have made the decision to stop production of ‘Ultimate Slip ’N Slide’ at the current location,” a rep for the studio told TheWrap in a statement.

“We are in the process of determining next steps in order to complete production.”

Many infected crew members blamed the mess on a lack of fresh clean water being used in the slip ‘n slide competitions, at odds with the network’s description of the show as a “fresh take on Wham-O’s iconic 1960s outdoor game,” the report said.

“This wet-and-wild new series takes the spirit of the classic backyard slide and transforms it into a real-life water park full of gigantic slippery rides with the chance to take home a big cash prize,” NBC said last month.
