Holidays have faced a wealth of complications over the past year and a bit, with Brits unable to jet off on summer holidays to favoured destinations. With lockdown restrictions gradually easing, holidaymakers may be opting for delayed holidays – choosing winter sun. There are no clear stipulations for travel restrictions in November, with a traffic light system currently in place. Green destinations are free to visit, while amber and red are cautioned against – with quarantine, Covid tests and for red list countries, a managed hotel quarantine required.

While the traditional summer holiday may be off the cards for the time being, planning for later this year could be the way forward.

There are a wealth of destinations which have hot and sunny Novembers, giving holidaymakers the opportunity to get their much-needed beach break.

With travel companies offering cancellations and rescheduling should lockdown rules be implemented, Brits can be assured they can book ahead of time.

So where is hot in November? Here are the 10 destinations to visit for winter sun.

Thailand – known as the land of smiles – is a beautiful holiday destination.

With its capital city Bangkok boasting highs of 33.1C in November, Brits won’t be short of sunny skies and warm weather.

There are hundreds of kilometres worth of beaches, vibrant cities and bustling restaurants across Thailand.

Holidaymakers can even book multi-destination holidays to Thailand, pairing Bangkok with two or more locations in Thailand – making sure you get some beach time.

As one of Asia’s food capitals, you’ll experience iconic street food and some stunning restaurants.

If you are thinking of booking a Singapore getaway, expect to see some rain as it sees 243mm (9.5 inches) of rain in November alone.

Visiting the Caribbean nation of the Dominican Republic in November guarantees you an average temperature of 30.5C.

With beaches aplenty, the Dominican Republic also boasts beautiful mangrove lagoons, mountain peaks and waterfalls.

Like Singapore, you may experience some rainfall, with November seeing an average of 122mm (4.8 inches) of rain.

Another classic holiday destination, Tenerife sees an average of 24.3C during November.

With a wealth of resorts, sprawling beaches and buzzing nightlife – there’s plenty to see and do.

November is also one of the cheapest times of year to visit Tenerife according to TUI.

Fuerteventura – average November temperature 24.2C

The second largest of Spain’s Canary Islands, Fuerteventura boasts an average temperature of 24.2C in November.

You can stay at all range of resorts, enjoy some of the best tapas and visit centuries-old villages.

According to TUI, Corralejo is one of the most popular towns to stay at, while Costa Caleta is a family favourite.

The Jandia peninsula has stunning national park-protected beaches with duty-free shopping complexes and a clutch of cocktail bars.

Madeira – average November temperature 21.7C

Last, but by no means least, Madeira, an autonomous region of Portugal, sees temperatures of 21.7C in November.

Madeira is an archipelago made up of four islands off the northwest coast of Africa.

Relax on the beach, enjoy a local tipple named Poncha and head to the capital Funchal for a bustling night out.
