Friends: The biggest earners from the iconic series

The long-awaited Friends reunion finally made its debut on Thursday online and on the app ahead of the TV airing.

The iconic show made the cast into global stars as well, with them raking in millions from over the ten year run and the projects that followed.

The creators, David Crane and Marta Kauffman, both are valued at $400 million each, with cast members Jennifer Aniston to have an estimated fortune of $300 million, Courteney Cox at $150 million, and Matthew Perry at $120 million, per The Sun.

In addition to co-creating Friends, David also wrote for the Joey spin-off as well as co-created the BBC Comedy Episodes – both of which Matt starred in.

Co-creator Marta also earned the big bucks through her sitcom Grace and Frankie as well as Seeing Allred.

Jennifer earned her millions from Friends, but also reportedly earns almost $8 million per film role.

In addition, she sold her Living Proof haircare brand and has several endorsement deals in the millions.

Courteney also brought in money from her appearing in shows like Scrubs and Modern Family, and producing the show Cougar Town.

David Schwimmer is estimated to have a fortune of $100 million, Lisa Kudrow at $89 million, and Matt LeBlanc at $79 million.

Guest stars Jon Favreau is worth $100 million; he played Monica’s boyfriend Pete on Friends; he created The Mandalorian TV series and produces the Avengers franchise.

Guest star Hank Azaria is worth $89 million; he starred as the scientist David on Friends but is more known for his voicework on The Simpsons.

For the final season of the show, the six Friends stars each earned almost $1 million per episode.

They each earned almost $3 million to appear on the reunion special.

The six stars – Courteney Cox (Monica Gellar), Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Green), Matthew Perry (Chandler Bing), Matt LeBlanc (Joey Tribbiani), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay) and David Schwimmer (Ross Gellar) – reunited on the Warner Bros. studio lot, where the original show was filmed, for a night full of laughs, tears and everything in between.

Friends is arguably one of most successful sitcoms of all time, running for 10 beloved seasons and 235 episodes from 1994 to 2004, and fans had been clamoring for a reunion for many years.

The special – which earned a flurry of reaction from die-hard fans when it launched on HBO Max in the US and Sky Go and Now TV in the UK – also saw a slew of guests make surprise appearances, including David Beckham, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Cindy Crawford. 

The special was filmed over a three-day period on the Warner Bros. lot, using the iconic fountain from the show as a backdrop for the cast’s main discussion, hosted by James Corden.
