Most weekday mornings on BBC Breakfast, Carol Kirkwood brings the latest weather news to millions up and down the country. A regular feature on breakfast-time TV, Carol is no stranger to BBC viewers – although The One Show host Jermaine Jenas was left red-faced when he admitted he was unaware of who she was during Wednesday’s show. But not letting her colleague get away with the snub, Alex Jones halted proceedings to scold her co-host.
The moment came just seconds into Wednesday’s The One Show as Alex and Jermaine spoke about the changing weather outside.
“Hello, and welcome to your Wednesday One Show with Jermaine Jenas,” Alex opened the programme, with Jermaine adding: “And Alex Jones.”
Before detailing what was to come, there was only one thing on Jermaine’s mind: the weather.
“Didn’t I tell you?” Jermaine began to tease his co-star. “The sun was gonna come back.”

However, the awkward slip-up didn’t go unnoticed by fans watching at home.
In fact, many took to Twitter to air their surprise at the BBC presenter not knowing who his fellow broadcasting colleague was.
“Oh my days still lifting my jaw off the ground @BBCTheOneShow,” one fan began. “‘I don’t know who Carol Kirkwood is’ go and sit in the corner, immediately @jjenas8 [laughing emoji],” tweeted one fan.
And The One Show’s official Twitter account even got in on the act, retweeting the fan and commenting: “Ooops #TheOneshow.”
