Police in San Jose were responding to an “active shooter” at a train yard close to the city’s airport Wednesday morning, officials said.

The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office tweeted just after 7 a.m. local time deputies were “on scene for an active shooter investigation” near West Younger Avenue where the VTA Light Rail Facility is located.

Cops with the San Jose Police Department said reports of a shooting near the area of Younger Ave and San Pedro Street, about 50 miles south of San Francisco, were reported at 6:34 a.m. local time.

“This is still an active scene and we ask that everyone stay out of the area while we conduct our investigation,” the San Jose Police Department tweeted.
