'Wary' Prince Charles's 'clenched' teeth sign of 'tension' since Harry 'neglect' claims

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Charles were treated by the Dean of Coventry today as they received a tour of the old cathedral. The couple then sat in the cathedral for a short service before Charles lit some candles. The Duchess also visited Coventry library after her visit to the cathedral.

She explained that the Prince of Wales looked “wary” as well as showing signs of “tension”.

The expert said: “Harry claimed to have spoken ‘with compassion’ during his Oprah chats but even he might acknowledge that it must be hard to have your parenting skills criticized without feeling anything but hurt.

“For Prince Charles there is the added pressure of appearing in public with Camilla yet again after so many years with little if any idea of their response, which could account for the rather wary look to his body language here in Coventry.

“The predominant cues from Charles here suggest he, like his mother and his older son, planned to put on a brave face and signal business as usual.

“Camilla in particular looks dedicated to producing a smile here although this smile viewed in close-up appears less jovial than it does from a distance.

“Her nose, mouth and eyes are all wrinkled and her mouth is open but there’s some tension in the lips and the teeth look bared rather than revealed in a smile of happiness.

“It looks like an over-congruent or overkill gesture as though she’s trying a little too hard.”

In one snap, Charles can be seen walking slightly ahead of Camilla, while she smiles at the camera.

The expert added that the Prince’s body language has changed since Harry made allegations about the Royal Family as well as the recent passing of the Duke of Edinburgh.

Judi went on: ”Charles did appear to be stepping happily into the spotlight again, with several of his displays on royal visits looking very much like show-boating, as though the more extrovert and even flamboyant ‘performer’ side to his personality was beginning to re-emerge.

“He is clearly engaging with his hosts in his usual way here and looking cheerful as he does so but he does otherwise look like a man who might be carrying wounds from his most recent attacks and from his bereavement.”

For the visit, the Duchess wore a beautiful navy midi dress with her favourite suede boots and a black blazer.

Her suede knee-high boots have been a staple in the royals wardrobe for several years, and she recycled them on regular occasions.

The Duchess kept her hairstyle simple, opting for her signature sleek blow-dry.
