Gemma Atkinson teases Simon Rimmer for dropping 'f word' backstage on Packed Lunch

Gemma Atkinson, 36, took to Instagram yesterday to share some behind-the-scenes footage from her appearance on Channel 4 show Steph’s Packed Lunch. The TV and radio star filmed in her dressing room and also on set.

During a rehearsal for the cooking segment, Gemma could be seen in the studio kitchen with chef Simon.

He was on the programme to show viewers how to make lobster and crab mac and cheese.

The former soap star shared a video on Instagram of the cook getting ready for his stint on TV, but had to turn the sound off, claiming that he swore.

“He said the F word so sound off,” she captioned the clip before adding a laughing emoji and tagging Simon into the footage.

Clearly amused by the post, the 58-year-old later shared the clip with his own 157,000 followers.

Simon is best known for presenting Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch with Tim Lovejoy, however, some fans will know him from his stint on Strictly Come Dancing.

He was on the BBC One show in the same year as Gemma.

While the actress made it to the 2017 final with her partner Aljaž Škorjanec, Simon, who was partnered with Karen Clifton, was the fifth celebrity to be voted off.

Ahead of the show, Gemma managed to spill toothpaste down her top, but luckily she had a back-up option to hand.

She told her 1.6 million followers that she was going to be talking about something very close to her heart on the show, in her dressing room update.

The mum-of-one, who shares one-year-old daughter Mia with fiancé Gorka Marquez, spoke about losing her dad to a heart attack.

She wanted to raise awareness for heart conditions and urged people, who felt that something wasn’t right, to go and get checked.

Gemma was just 17 when her father, who appeared very healthy, died at the age of 52.

He had chest pains for four to five days before his death but put it down to heartburn or indigestion, she explained.

She said it was important to know the signs and get checked for heart issues.

“I hope my story helps others who been through the same,”(sic) she wrote online after the broadcast.
