Corey Kluber was sensational on Wednesday, ending a 21-year no-hitter drought for the Yankees.

Kluber tossed the sixth no-hitter in MLB this season, one shy of the single-reason record…and it’s only May. It’s been quite the road for Kluber, from two Cy Young awards to two years full of injuries and now a no-hitter for the Yankees.

To talk about Kluber’s no-hitter, the Yankees taking two against the Rangers and look ahead to the matchup against Tony La Russa and the White Sox, we bring you a new episode of the “Pinstripe Pod” with Chris Shearn and Jeff Nelson.

Pinstripe Pod Opening Segment with Chris, Jeff & Jake:

  • KLUBER THROWS NO-HITTER: First Yankees no-hitter since David Cone in 1999. Could have had a perfect game if not for a few suspect balls called on the walk. Kluber was economic with 101 pitches. Great story for him after coming off two injury-filled seasons. Nellie was a part of five no-hitters. There were a lot of beverages after Cone’s no-hitter in 1999.
  • WHITE SOX/LA RUSSA: Tough test for Yankees to go against best team in AL right now. La Russa gave a take sign and Mercedes disobeyed manager. La Russa should not have aired it out to the media. Should have called him into his office. He was given a meatball.

MLB Network analyst, former MLB infielder

  • TONY LA RUSSA: Reacting to his comments and the entire situation. Was he right or wrong for airing out his player?
  • KLUBER’S NO-HITTER/HITTING IN TODAY’S GAME/ANALYTICS: Does Madison Bumgarner’s count? Lot of no-hitters this year. Analytics have changed game and hitters approaches have changed. Players swinging out of their shoes at pitches.
