New NVIDIA GeForce RTX laptops could be the answer to PS5 and Xbox Series X stock woes

NVIDIA has announced a new range of laptops featuring GeForce RTX technology.

A potential remedy for PS5 and Xbox Series X stock shortages, the new laptops deliver real-time ray tracing and AI-based DLSS.

More affordable than equivalent PC rigs, NVIDIA claims the new devices are twice as fast as previous generation systems.

“Providing exceptional performance in thin, sleek designs, the new RTX laptops are twice as fast as previous-generation systems, delivering smooth, 60 frames per second gameplay at 1080p in popular titles such as Minecraft RTX and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War,” reads the official description.

“Studio laptops now come in a wider range of options than ever, with RTX acceleration in even more top apps.

“With options ranging from 3050 and 3050 Ti-based models for creative aficionados all the way up to 3080-based systems for expert creators, there’s the perfect system for every creator.”

According to NVIDIA, the new laptops feature specialised Tensor Cores that power its DLSS technology (Deep Learning Super Sampling).

As a reminder, NVIDIA DLSS is a form of AI rendering technology that increases graphical performance and boosts frame rates.

It gives users a better chance of achieving the gold standard of 4K visuals at 60 frames-per-second and above.

DLSS is currently available in more 40 AAA titles and indie game hits, including Outriders, Call of Duty: Warzone, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and Mortal Shell.

With more games added every week, it’s something that will grow in importance as the years go on.

The technology is also beneficial to streamers, thanks to NVIDIA’s Broadcast feature, which removes background noise and adds virtual backgrounds.

“New GeForce RTX 30 Series laptops, including GeForce RTX 3080, 3070 and 3060, are available starting today from the world’s top manufacturers, including Acer, Alienware, ASUS, Dell, Gigabyte, HP, Lenovo, MSI and Razer. RTX 3050 Ti and 3050-based laptops will be available this summer,” NVIDIA continues.

“GeForce RTX 30 Series laptops will also be available from local OEMs and system builders, including Aftershock, CyberPower PC, Digital Storm, Eluktronics, Falcon NW, Hasee, Maingear, Mechrevo, Mouse, Origin PC, PC Specialist, Scan, Schenker, Terrans Force, Thunderobot and XOTIC PC.”
