Sheffield Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes is in talks to join Huddersfield Town on a free transfer.

The 31-year old, who joined from Middlesbrough for £10million, scored seven goals this season as Wednesday dropped to League One despite a late flourish to try and salvage their Championship status.

Rhodes also had interest from Ipswich Town but is discussing terms on a three year contract to return to Huddersfield where he made 148 appearances and scored 87 goals during a four year spell between 2009 and 2012.

The Scotland international of 14 caps then moved on to Blackburn Rovers and Middlesbrough, playing briefly in the Premier League, before arriving at Hillsborough.

Rhodes spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Norwich City, playing a part in their promotion into the Premier League.

In total he has scored 17 goals in 94 matches for Wednesday during his time with the club.

Their relegation to the third tier was confirmed last Saturday following a dramatic 3-3 draw at Derby County, who survived relegation.
