Fern Britton urged to thank Eamonn Holmes as new book becomes bestseller 'Aw shucks'

Fern Britton’s new book Daughters Of Cornwall is selling like hot cakes and is currently number five in the Sunday Times bestseller list. The delighted author took to Twitter last night after being congratulated online by her publisher.

“We are so proud of @Fern_Britton and her extraordinary novel #DaughtersOfCornwall which is a Sunday Times No.5 bestseller!

“Congratulations Fern,” Harper Fiction tweeted.

“Congratulations @Fern_Britton! Who here has picked up #DaughtersofCornwall?” the publicity team later added.

“Aw shucks,” Fern tweeted as she re-shared the post with her 84,900 followers.

Reading her book on social media was obviously a hit with fans, as last week Fern’s latest release reached a huge milestone.

The 63-year-old writer informed her followers that it had sold over 10,000 copies in one week.

Sharing a picture of her book in front of the fire, she wrote: “By my fireside… an unbelievable 10,000 of you bought #DaughterofCornwall in the last 5 days.

“I owe you 10,000 [kisses] x1000 kisses. Thank you.”
