Chris Eubank Jr mocks Billy Joe Saunders after winning £10,000 bet with Canelo knockout

Chris Eubank Jr laughs and MOCKS Billy Joe Saunders after securing £10,000 WIN following his bitter rival’s eighth round knock out by Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez

Chris Eubank Jr was captured on camera in fits of giggles after watching his bitter rival Billy Joe Saunders ruthlessly knocked out by Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez in Texas.

Eubank Jr had remained insistent that his old foe would not last the distance with the mighty Mexican and lose by a knockout or TKO on the big stage.

So confident was Eubank Jr that he staked £10,000 pounds of his own money on a bet with William Hill priced at evens, and pledged to give the potential full £10,000 winnings to charity.

Now, Eubank Jr has been proved correct and has seen a healthy injection to his bank balance as a result.

Watching on TV, Eubank Jr had his reaction filmed by friends as Saunders’ team threw the towel in and failed to allow their man come back out for the ninth round.

Moments prior Saunders had taken a huge right hand which has now led to what many people suspect is a broken orbital bone and damage to the eye.

Eubank Jr branded his rival a ‘wetbag’ and celebrated with his pals while reclining casually in a chair at home.

While smiling broadly, Eubank Jr addressed the camera directly and said: ‘Give me the ten grand baby, give me the ten grand.’

The 31-year-old then took the opportunity to get himself further involved in the action and tweeted: ‘Canelo if you want a Brit to give you a real fight… I’m ready and waiting.’

Eubank Jr had remained resolute in his opinion that Saunders would not be winning the fight, and immediately took to social media last week to provide hard proof of his £10,000 bet when doubted by boxing fans.

Captioning the image, he wrote: ‘The bet has been placed! Billy Schmoe Saunders to get cleaned out by Canelo Alvarez this Saturday. Oh… & the 10k I stand to win will all go to charity.

It was a first professional defeat for Saunders, who despite his impeccable record still remained a huge underdog against the four-weight world champion Canelo.

Eubank Jr and Saunders have had a long-standing rivalry for several years, and have seemingly traded a war of words annually.

Eubank Jr is one of the more illustrious wins on Saunders’ boxing CV, having retained the British middleweight title against him back in 2014 in a blockbuster event which went the distance.
